The Henry Somerset Orchid Conservation Area is a lovely spot situated between Latrobe and Railton. Privately owned, trees have recently been cleared in some parts, but not along the walking trail while we were there.
Native Terrestrial Orchids: Henry Somerset Reserve
by Benita Bell
The Henry Somerset Reserve has at least 43 species of orchid. I might go there again to capture more even photos of the beautiful orchids. There’s a flat, effortless 5-10 minute walk with easy access for wheelchairs and prams. I often see older people pull up there just to walk their dogs.
