Do you need something sweet and lovely to recover from the rigours of the federal election campaign? We have just the thing on offer today. Think Tasmania readers can enter for a chance to WIN this high tea competition, courtesy of staff and the management team at a stunning accommodation property south of Hobart.
Villa Howden High Tea Competition
Villa Howden was originally introduced to Think Tasmania readers via an article by Anelda Lotter about her own high tea experience. The gorgeous venue also received a mention in our Best in Tassie Devonshire Tea challenge. Natalie Trethowen, the Sales Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Villa Howden, was understandably impressed with both Anelda Lotter Photography and the subsequent promotion via Think Tasmania, and touched based with us about a giveaway opportunity.
Since then, Natalie has graciously organised two prize vouchers for this Think Tasmania high tea competition, valued at $94-00. At the conclusion of this random draw, the winner will need to contact Villa Howden and advise a delivery address for the prize vouchers. Upon making a booking, two guests will be welcomed to Villa Howden for high tea and will enjoy a glass of Tasmanian bubbles each.
Here’s what Villa Howden have to say about the opportunity…
Villa Howden is open for Traditional High Tea each Saturday and Sunday from 2pm until 4pm. Guests can relax in the luxurious surrounds of the Estate, enjoying Traditional High Tea with friends and family on the deck overlooking the North West Bay, on the terrace surrounded by beautiful gardens, in the restaurant listening to our baby grand piano or on a picnic rug in the landscaped gardens.
Our Traditional High Tea consists of a three tier stand with fresh ribbon sandwiches on the bottom, a middle plate of cakes and pastries and then a top tier of scones, jam and cream. Freshly brewed tea and freshly ground plunger coffee is included. High Tea is $39 per person, or with a glass of premium Tasmanian sparkling is just $47. Premium Tasmanian sparkling and other beverages are available for purchase.
For more information about this high tea competition at Villa Howden visit their website; or for bookings phone (03) 6267 1161. You can also follow Villa Howden on Facebook. They’re located at 77 Howden Road, Howden (south of Hobart, just off the Channel Highway between Kingston and Margate).
As we’ve said before, the competition rules on Facebook are all too hard, so we’re going to keep this in-house. We’re also going to keep it REALLY simple. If you are subscribed to receive the free newsletter from Think Tasmania, you are eligible to enter. Apparently a random draw is still allowed in Tasmania without applying for a permit, so here’s what you need to do…
Step 1 – be a subscriber to the FREE newsletter from Think Tasmania*
Step 2 – leave a reply at the bottom of this article.
And that’s it! This will be a random draw, so comments won’t influence the outcome. But if you’d like to leave any feedback for Villa Howden about this high tea competition, that would be really great. You could discuss your personal desire to win the prize, or even Think Tasmania… we’d love to hear it all, and we’ll be closely following all the comments. We won’t reply individually because that would upset the competition app (it might award us the prize!!).
High Tea Competition ~ Common Sense Please?
- Leave a comment on this post by midnight 7th October 2013 (local time).
We’ll choose a random winner using our website’s competition app.
- The high tea competition vouchers (as described) from Villa Howden
with a retail value of $94-00 are the one and only prize.
- Fair and reasonable terms and conditions automatically apply.
So one entry each (our app is able to detect multiple entries).
- Please apply common sense to all aspects of this high tea
competition… we’d hate to disqualify someone for being silly.
- We won’t use your email address for anything sinister, because
we firmly believe in doing the right thing. Always. Don’t you?
- We’ll announce the winner’s name here, on Facebook and Twitter.
We’ll also contact the winner by email, and advise Natalie Trethowen
(and the team at Villa Howden) of the competition results.
What else do we need to stipulate? Nothing? Okay… then it’s over to you. Comment away! We wish you all the very best of luck. And if you’d be kind enough to share this high tea competition with all your peeps, we’d be extremely happy. Besides showing a little friendly community spirit by spreading the joy, sharing will also no doubt lead to similar competitions in the future. And THAT can only be a good thing for everyone!!
*We ask that you subscribe to Think Tasmania for these competitions for several reasons. Of course we’d prefer any prizes go to dedicated followers; and we need to make sure we can contact the winners. What makes it to the Newsfeed of Facebook is a bit random, and not everyone even uses social media. Most people can receive an email however, so that’s our sure-fire way of reaching everyone. And finally, we like to share all the great things on offer in Tasmania with as many interested readers as possible – that’s our mission!
