Wandering down the main street of Latrobe today, and nearing Station Square, I suddenly was aware of that wonderful scent of freshly made coffee. Looking around I realised that the new cafe La Dolce Vita (the Sweet Life indeed) was open.

La Dolce Vita: The Sweet Life

by Lorraine McNeair

How could I resist the allure of a relaxing mug of coffee… and perhaps a snack? I couldn’t, and entered the open doors of La Dolce Vita to be greeted by the very hospitable Demelza Harkness. There was a very relaxed atmosphere within – something we need and crave for in this busy life – with an outlook onto the throngs walking the popular streets of Latrobe.

Chatting to Demelza and her friendly staff, I discovered that La Dolce Vita serves light lunches and snacks, with specialty cakes, either by piece or whole cake, available for enjoying at the cafe, or to take away for special occasions. Meals can be enjoyed alfresco if preferred, and gluten free options are there for choice.

By the way, the coffee was delicious.
