We had the chance to dine at The Waterfront Hotel in Bellerive on Hobart’s Eastern Shore recently. We hadn’t dined there for AGES because a previous experience wasn’t particularly memorable. But this time around, the meals were spot on.
It was a cool night, but we braved the dining room’s deck section anyway. The views over the Bellerive Marina were worth a coat-wearing dinner; and with the see-through blinds down and the patio heaters up, we hardly noticed the breeze.
Gavin chose the beef cheeks and was very happy with his dinner. The meat was really tender, and came served with a creamy mash and a good selection of perfectly cooked veggies.
The beef burger rated just as high. We haven’t seen beetroot in a burger very often, so that was a nice surprise. It was quite the towering feast actually, with egg, bacon, a good serve of salad and crunchy chips on the side.
Two Course Meal Deals
The kids chose one of the extraordinarily good value “meal deals” and got a chicken schnitzel followed by a chocolate sundae for their trouble. No complaints to be heard from them.
We couldn’t let the kids have all the dessert-fun, so we shared a chocolate and hazelnut cheesecake. If all desserts arrived at our dining tables as this one did, we would be extremely happy.
