Think Tasmania was originally introduced to the Brookfield Shed by Herbaceous Tours. Not surprising really, given Sally is a wealth of knowledge about all the Tasmanian things that are good to see, do and taste!
Margate Train and Brookfield Shed
We combined our most recent visit to the Brookfield Shed with a browse at the Margate Train complex.
If shopping is your “thing” …both places have some interesting and quirky goods for sale. Upstairs at Brookfield, you’ll find some astounding hand-crafted timber furniture. Downstairs, there’s a small section with souvenirs and gifts available for purchase. Monogrammed towels, teddies, books, soaps… that kind of thing.
Seaboard Seafood Platter
Lunch was brilliant. I had chicken, which was very nice. Gavin had a seafood selection called Seaboard. And what a platter that turned out to be! Definitely the meal of the day. The menu had a good range; we’d suggest something to suit all tastes. The dining room was busy, and we were eagle-eying all the plates as they passed by.
The Brookfield Shed is located at 1640 Channel Highway in Margate, near the Margate Train complex and Inverawe Native Gardens. Phone (03) 6267 2996 for details or follow Brookfield Shed Margate on Facebook. We shared this snap via our social media accounts.
