Looking for something sweet in Hobart? Try Honey Badger Dessert Cafe in Salamanca Square. We made this confession via Instagram: we indulged in a Blonde Panookie.

Dessert Cafe, Honey Badger: Blonde Panookie

What’s a panookie, you may well ask. In this case it’s a chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie baked in a serving pan. Ours came with marshmallow, orange blossom fairy floss, caramel fudge ice cream and salted caramel beads. It was totally delicious, as it sounds and looks!

There’s other varieties of panookie on the dessert menu, all sinfully decadent. Someone asked if our photo represented a serving for just one person, to which we replied… yes!

Oh My Pumpkin Dessert

To show appropriate due diligence, we also sampled something healthy from the dessert menu. Well, it was called “Oh My Pumpkin” and was sweetened with organic coconut sugar, so that’s gotta be healthy, right?

Coffee and Hot Chocolate: Salamanca Square

We also had coffee and hot chocolate, just to round out the event. Gavin enjoyed the coffee so much, he went back for seconds. Lots of people head to Honey Badger Dessert Cafe after meals at other Salamanca restaurants, but we tend to eat an entire meal in the one place. Our research was conducted on a Sunday afternoon, so we could escape the weeds in our garden. The place was jumping, but the service was quick and the meals delicious!

Good coffee and hot chocolate too!

The folks from Honey Badger often include #ThinkTasmania on their Instagram photos, and we thank them for that. So too does the social media manager from Maldini Restaurant, which is also awesome. It’s great to see what’s new and inviting to eat.
