Recently we stayed at Eagles Nest II, a luxury accommodation property near Sheffield in north west Tasmania. And now we have some outstanding news for all of you. Des Brown, the owner of Eagles Nest Retreat, would like to offer Think Tasmania readers the opportunity to experience their own indulgent getaway, just as we did. How about that for great news? It couldn’t be better timing either, with the festive season all but upon us.

Luxury retreat property, Sheffield: Eagles Nest II
Eagles Nest II: Night to Remember
When I heard this fabulous news, I was overcome with joy and excitement, just like a child on Christmas morning. I mentioned that Eagles Nest II is awesome in every regard; pure bliss in fact. I did also acknowledge that it’s difficult to do the place justice in words, and even photographs. But thanks to the generosity of Des Brown, one very lucky reader will get to experience this wonderful place for themselves.
There’s no secret catch to the deal. The winner will be able to book a night that suits them (subject to availability) and can take their prize any time in the next 12 months. One night’s accommodation at Eagles Nest II (so exactly the same property we shared with you) will be offered to the winner and their guest. If they wish to book extra nights or bring additional guests with them, they can do so at their own cost.

One of the bedrooms: Eagles Nest II
Eagles Nest II will be stocked with full breakfast provisions and gourmet delights for the winner to enjoy on arrival. The prize is valued at $620. There are other deluxe services (massage, chef, butler, etc) available at an additional cost; they’re listed on the Eagles Nest Retreat website and can be organised with Des Brown if desired.
Christmas Eve Excitement
As we’ve said before, the competition rules on Facebook are all too mind-boggling, so we’re going to keep this in-house. We’re also going to keep it REALLY simple. If you are subscribed to receive the free newsletter from Think Tasmania, you are eligible to enter. Apparently a random draw is still allowed in Tasmania without applying for a permit, so here’s what you need to do…
Step 1 – be a subscriber to the FREE newsletter from Think Tasmania*
Step 2 – leave a reply at the bottom of this article.
And that’s it! Of course if you’d like to follow Eagles Nest Retreat on Facebook and keep the property in mind for future getaways, that would be a good idea too. Des Brown is giving you the chance to win something awesome, after all. And here’s a little insider tip… sometimes a free night’s accommodation is offered to dedicated fans and those seen by Des as genuinely needing a break.
This will be a random draw, so comments won’t influence the outcome. But if you’d like to leave any feedback about Eagles Nest Retreat, or Sheffield, or your personal desire to win this prize, or even Think Tasmania… we’d love to hear it. Des will be closely following the progress of the giveaway.
And of course, Christmas is all about sharing and caring, so please get into the spirit of the season and spread the word about this giveaway. Imagine if one of your friends were to win the night at Eagles Nest II through your actions… they might even take you with them!

What an amazing Christmas present that will be for the lucky person that wins, fingers and toes crossed it will be me!
WOW!!! Is all I can say! This is magic. It’s my first wedding anniversary in ten days, what a beautiful time my husband I would have at your property. He’s been away for 12 months doing fly in fly out so this would mean some extra quality time for us in a magical location!
What an amazing prize! This would be like Christmas twice, first the winner finding out they had been lucky enough to score it and then all over again when they got to go.
What a beautiful place to escape the everyday rat race…..After moving to Tasmania over 3 years ago, my husband and I love going and discovering new exciting places to visit each week and Eagle Nest is a new discovery for us and it has been put on our to do list…..THank you for sharing….
My wife and I stayed at Eagles Nest 1 and 2 for our honeymoon and it was fantastic.
We have wanted to get back to Eagles Nest 2 but with work and two additions to the family since it hasn’t been possible.
Whoever wins will definitely have a wonderful time.

Would love to win this and treat my partner who despite booking 2 days time off over Xmas/new year 3 months ago was told yesterday he cant take it and he would be working every day this festive season… 4.am starts…. he is devastated…. would be great to have something indulgent to look forward to!

Wow, what a wonderful giveaway!! Very generous!! I was just talking about this place with friends a couple of days ago, they said they had stayed there and it was a fantastic experience. It’s going to be very exciting for the winner, whoever that may be!! Thanks for the opportunity!
How fabulous would it be to wake up to such stunning views of Mt Roland – my spiritual home. We all need to recharge the batteries occasionally and I can’t think of a better place to do it. So good for the soul. Good luck all!
what a beautiful part of the world – just breathtaking. How lucky are we to have this at our door step.
This place has always been on my bucket list to visit and stay at! With its amazing natural Tasmanian scenery, back drop and world class A1 accommodation, I could not think of a better place to stay for our wedding night!
Imagine getting back in touch as a couple without three boys running around. Finger crossed 🙂
What an incredible prize!
As newlyweds of 6 weeks we are broke and madly in love. Unfortunately it also means no holidays anytime soon. This would be a perfect short getaway for us 🙂
We spent our honeymoon at this amazing place, what a luxurious treat! We would recommend this wonderful retreat to anyone. We felt purely indulged! Stunning views, beautiful property, gorgeous accommodation, thank you so much! We’d love to come back and show it off to friends and family!
Would love to win this, hubby and I have not had any alone time in the 13 years we have been married. Whoever does win this will have a wonderful time!! Goodluck to everyone who is entered!
It is an absolutle ideal gift for Christmas, but if I won, I would give it to my husband for being my rock, my sanity and my hero, throughout the past 7 months since our baby came early, and most especially since she passed away. He deserves a break more than anyone standing by my side and helping me get through each day, best that I can.
All I want for Christmas is a night at ENII and to wake up gazing at the remarkable Mt Rowland!
Amazing place and amazing prize.
We moved to Tassie 2 years ago and because of work commitments we haven’t had as much time as we would have liked to explore this beautiful island. This magnificent property would be the perfect place to re-start our journey of discovery.
Wow, what an amazing prize… hope we are lucky enough to be drawn out, its our 10th wedding anniversary in September and a child free night would be amazing!!!
If its not us, we hope the lucky winner has a great time!!!!
I was very interested in staying at Eagles Nest Retreat with my husband for our 30th Wedding Anniversary on the 18th Dec 2012 but unfortunately it was booked out for that night. i think it looks the ultimate place for a romantic getaway and will definitely keep it in mind for the future next year!!!!!
We have driven past this property many times, I have always wondered what a night in Eagles Nest would be like, my husband and I are madly deaply in love with Tasmania especially N W and do the great outdoors camping thing, we love just being out amongst nature, so we very rarely go to anywhere like Eagles Nest, nearly every anniversary in the last 18 we have been away camping, I wish one year we could do a big fancy anniversary but I don’t care where I am as long as I am with my husband.
This would be fantastic to win. and good luck to you all. but for me, every night in N W Tasmania is special. Love this place
My partner spoils me rotten. I would love to spoil her with this as a surprise.
What an amazing offer for some one.
My friends beautiful wedding was at Eagles Nest and I would love nothing more to have the opportunity to actually get to stay there myself and experience the whole place in all its glory. There is something truly magical about that place.
Dream getaway, this would be the perfect gift 🙂
My husband and I have 4 kids between us, and since we have been together the only night we have had alone was our wedding night. And with another little one on the way, we would love to enjoy a weekend of quiet bliss before our newest addition to the family is born.
What a fantastic opportunity! I have been part of a wedding party at Eagles Nest 1 and it was such a stunning venue. I am sure Eagles Nest 2 is all that and more!
oh wow! would love to go! 🙂
Looks like a magical place and would be delighted to spend time with my new partner there!
How amazing, that would be a brilliant christmas present for us. Maybe somewhere to spend some of our honeymoon next year! 🙂
Sounds amazing, haven’t been to the NW for a few years, so would be a great opportunity to explore. Thanks
Several of my friends have stayed at both Eagles Nest 1 and 2 but I have always missed out. They have raved about it and I would so love to go there to experience it myself. Probably for a girlie weekend, unless Santa brings me a nice man for Christmas!!
I want to be
roosting at Eagle’s Nest for free,
Please make me,
Lucky
How wonderful if my waking view was to see
Eagle Nest’s surrounding scenery
Serendipity
Eagles Nest is awesome. Several of our friends have chosen it for their weddings and we’d really like to stay their ourselves sometime.
I have had Eagle Nest on my wish list – for my wish to come true it would be amazing! Thank you for the opportunity! Beverley 🙂
Looks like bedded bliss to me
Wow it looks soooooo beautiful. I wont give you a hard luck story – as no doubt we all deserve a break and have battled through tough times. I would love to take my son and just soak up the serenity, sit and gaze at the beauty and remember how grateful I am to exist on this beautiful planet and in particular this stunning State. Good luck everyone! Excited!
Eagle Nest II shows that development can be in harmony with nature. World class facility!
What a fabulous prize. this looks like such a wonderful place to stay, and we are heading to Tasmania next year too so would be able to stay if we won this. Thanks for the generosity of this giveaway.
What a lovely Christmas present this would be! Have just hurt my leg and found out I’ll be on crutches for the next 2 months, a night away being pampered would be the perfect “pick me up”!!!
We will be going to Tasmania sometime in the near future and my husband has promised me a special night at a hotel or similar as my belated birthday gift. What a wonderful prize this would be to win. Our daughter stayed there and just loved it – we saw the photos. Just a short drive from the boat.
My Mum, Lillian Edna Banham was born in Sheffield in 1910.
She lived in town,in relative poverty, with her five siblings until her late teens, when both parents had passed away. She eventually came to Melbourne and married Warden Atkins, who had been born in the Waratah Hotel, Tas in 1913! Mum died here, when I was six years old. My grandparents are buried in the Sheffield cemetery. So I would love to go back one day and explore some family history and see that Mt Roland, which my Aunt used to fondly talk about.
I have friends who have stayed here and they highly recommend your beautiful part of Tassie. Looks like a very special place 🙂
Wow the winner will be one very lucky person. Thanks to Eagles Nest Retreat for their generosity and to Think Tasmania for the wonderful job you do promoting all our fantastic local businesses.
would love to celebrate our anniversary in style
and see the murals
amazing competition, good luck to all
So wonderful to find a site dedicated to showing off this wonderful state. I haven’t heard of Eagles Nest before, and love the look of it! A night away is always good…..especially after the chaos that is Christmas and summer holidays with children.
One night is a beginning but I will be extending it to a week, so much to see in a place I’ve never been before but I’m sure once been will want to go again, gorgeous.
would love to stay here at this wonderful venue and also spend longer exploring the region
Would love to spend our Wedding Anniversary there.
I’ve been living in Tassie for 2 years now but haven’t had the opportunity to visit Eagles Nest, looks like a heavenly place 🙂
What a perfect way to re-live our Tasmanian honeymoon!!

Eagle’s Nest just sounds divine,
If only this prize could be mine,
21 years ago was when we were married,
In the choice of a honeymoon venue we have tarried,
A week of bliss would be good I don’t mind confessing,
But even just a night would be a long awaited blessing!
I would be thrilled if I won this prize and would give it to my hardworking daughter and her partner so that they could enjoy a wonderful experience
Looks gorgeous!!
