You know how you go to a restaurant, and you instantly know it’ll be added to your five-star favourites? That’s the case with Flathead Cafe in South Hobart. It’s a winner all the way. That seafood… yum! Everything was served simply and tasted absolutely perfect. Light, crispy batter (with no greasy aftertaste) coating fresh, locally-sourced fish served with hot, crunchy morsels of potato; that’s all you want from a fish n chip place! Accompanying sauces were finger-licking good, and the dressing on the coleslaw was just… wow! Desserts were equally wicked: a devilishly-rich chocolate mousse, enhanced by a sweet, crunchy almond praline. And an affogato, which is becoming a firm favourite with our coffee fiend. We totally rate Flathead Cafe, including the friendly and efficient service. We’ll be back, and soon hopefully.
