Some articles are easy to write. This one is not. In fact, sitting here at my desk I’m a little lost for words. And that never happens. Unfortunately, I have some pretty yukky news to share with you, and it concerns our much loved and valued team member, Carol Haberle.
Get well Carol
Get Well Carol. We Miss You
You may have noticed: Carol’s customary weekly article was missing on Friday? You know something must be seriously wrong if our dedicated, talented and totally reliable contributor hasn’t submitted her regular story about her beloved Tasmania. And there is. Carol is currently in hospital facing the fight of her life.
Think Tasmania: experiences Carol shares
But fight she will. She’s already faced some serious health challenges in her time… more than most people should ever have to face. But this time it’s Carol v cancer. And my money’s on Carol all the way.
Carol’s home: Ridgley Tasmania
So we’re sending Carol all our love and plenty of strong, positive vibes. She doesn’t want our sympathy. But she does want all her Think Tasmania friends to know that she’s currently concentrating on getting well again. And when she’s jumped this hurdle, we’ll welcome her back with open arms. With her awesome photos and her insight into Tasmania… she’ll be sorely missed but definitely always in our thoughts.
If you’d like to leave a get well Carol message or some words of support on this article, we’ll make sure she receives them all.
21 March 2014 – With great sadness, we advise her fans that Carol lost her brave battle with leukaemia today. She will be missed by everyone. Love and Hugs, Sweetie.

Have just spent a few hours with Carol in the LGH ICU – she had chemo yesterday and is doing extremely well. Carol my darling we have been through so much together in the last few years and we will treat this as another minor hiccup on life’s adventure. After this our friend the wind will blow all our cares away, the mountains will remain strong and vibrant waiting for the sun to bring new life and we will keep exploring and gaining knowledge, we will remain true to ourselves and continue to fight when we need to. Luv you darl
Thank you Roseann for spending time with Carol, as we both know Carol is a very special person and she also has a stubborn streak and if anyone can beat this cancer I am sure Carol can.
