The Mornington Inn might just become “my local” as their social media hashtag suggests. The food was really good; the service was outstanding and the dining room was unpretentious. We liked the place, and we thought you might like it too.
For Locals and Visitors: Mornington Inn
We pegged the Mornington Inn as the perfect venue for casual family dining. When next we visit we’ll take our hungry teenage boys wish us and they’ll be happy with the meal-sizes.
We shared a serve of squid seasoned with Korean chilli and lime for entree. Next came mains…
- drunken Irish chicken (chicken breast baked and served with a button mushroom, grain mustard and green ginger wine cream sauce, served with sweet potato chips and fresh vegetables)
- chicken burger (Swiss cheese, bacon, tomato, salad and dijon mayo inside a soft sesame seed bun served with fries)
Both were excellent choices. We also shared a delicious chocolate brownie, and we’d go back to the Mornington Inn for that alone!
You’ll find Mornington Inn at 322 Cambridge Road, Mornington (between Hobart and the airport – just off the Tasman Highway). Phone ahead for bookings on (03) 6244 3855 or follow Mornington Inn via Facebook.
